CUC Goulburn re-opens in new central location, expanding access for regional students
25 Nov 2024
The Country Universities Centre (CUC) Goulburn is thrilled to announce the re-opening of its doors in a brand-new, centrally located facility on 11th November 2024. With increased floor space and enhanced amenities, the new centre is ready to welcome a growing number of local students, continuing its mission to support regional access to higher education.
Since first opening in 2018, CUC Goulburn had previously been co-located with TAFE NSW, where demand from students quickly outpaced the space available.
With this move to a larger, purpose-built location, CUC Goulburn is now equipped to provide a more suitable environment for students, featuring expanded quiet study spaces, group breakout rooms, high-speed internet, and face-to-face academic and well-being support from local staff.
CUC Goulburn Chair Bob Kirk shared his enthusiasm for the centre’s growth and its potential impact on the local community.
We are proud to have expanded our footprint in Goulburn with a space that better meets the needs of our students. Demand for our services has outgrown our previous location, and this new centre gives students a place where they can focus, connect, and thrive in their studies without leaving the region.
Chris Ronan, CEO of Country Universities Centre, celebrated the expansion and the opportunities it brings for Goulburn’s students,
CUC Goulburn has been an invaluable resource for students since it first opened in 2018, and with this move to a larger, more central location, it is clear that the CUC model is successful in this community. We aim to make higher education accessible for all students in regional Australia, and this new facility is a significant step forward in achieving that vision in Goulburn.”
The re-opening marks an important milestone for CUC Goulburn, which has seen an exponential increase in students since its inception, far exceeding the community’s expectations. The CUC model across NSW, QLD and VIC demonstrates a significant need for access to higher education, with over 2,600 students accessing Centres across the CUC Network.
