Our new facilities will open at 91 Bourke St on July 24th

About our new site

Our new site is located closer to town, at 91 Bourke St. This is the two-storey building across the road from the Hume Conservatorium. The site will be open and operational from 9:00 am on Wednesday 24th July, and then open to students from 5 am to midnight, 7 days a week. Fast internet, computers, installed software, dual-screen monitors and printing facilities will continue to be available and free to registered students, as will our range of student services.

Existing swipes will not work at the new site. All students will need to complete an orientation at the new site to gain access.

Sneak peak and orientation evening on July 22nd

To celebrate and help all students get acquainted with the new site, we are opening the Centre to all students from 12 pm to 8 pm on Monday 22nd July.  This event is a chance to explore the new premises and enjoy a meal with fellow students, as well as complete an orientation to gain access to the new Centre. We’ll also encourage you to take photos of the new site and share it on socials to help us spread the word.

12 to 2 pm – BBQ lunch

6 pm – Pizza

Until 8 pm – Orientations

The Centre will be open and available for individual and/or group orientations from 12 to 8 pm, running every half hour. Your orientation will include some important safety and security information. You will:

  • tour the new premises with a staff member
  • have a photo taken for our new access system
  • receive a new swipe card or access via phone app
  • sign our updated student agreement.

All students completing the orientation will receive a welcome pack and access to the new site.

For safety and security purposes, students cannot receive access until they complete an orientation with a staff member. If the above time does not suit you, we’re also offering drop-in sessions or the option to book individual appointments outside these times. All students will need to book in a time here.

Access to our TAFE site will close July 23rd

Our current site will remain accessible, using your existing swipe, until midnight on Monday 22nd July. Please collect any food or personal items from the TAFE site before this date. After this date, the site will remain closed. Leftover food will be disposed, and any found personal items will be stored in lost property at 91 Bourke St.

Please note that both our current site and the new premises will be closed on Tuesday 24th July to facilitate the move of our remaining furniture and computers. This brief closure is necessary to ensure all systems are set up and functioning smoothly in the new location.

Further questions or assistance from staff

If you would like any additional information or have any specific needs or concerns in relation to our relocation, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us. Staff greatly appreciate your patience during this busy period and welcome all feedback on how we can improve the new Centre. We are also here to help minimise any disruption to your studies, and to help everyone settle into the new facilities.

After almost two years of planning and work, we are very excited about our new Centre and being able to finally share it with our students. We know from our community that it will be a welcoming, inclusive  – and productive – space. We can’t wait!
